Matei Sasu
Matei received his Bachelor of Education in Secondary Ed at the University of Alberta in 2021 and obtained his law degree from U of A in 2024. He went on to complete his articling at a corporate/commercial law firm in Edmonton before joining Nugent Law Office in 2025 as a lawyer. During his law school summers he worked as a dayleader at Student Legal Services of Edmonton, and as a summer law student at the Alberta Human Rights Commission. These experiences gave him a foundation in employee-side advocacy, and he remains passionate about representing employees in any forum.
Matei has also worked as a substitute teacher for Parkland School Division, teaching kindergarten through grade 12 as needed. He enjoyed being in front of a dynamic audience where no day was the same as the one before, skills which became useful in law school and in legal practice.
Outside of work Matei enjoys reading, going for bike rides and walks, and trying to finish tv shows he has already started.
