Jacob Axelrod


Jake has worked at Nugent Law Office since he was a law student. Originally from North Vancouver, BC, Jake earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political studies from Queen’s University, where he graduated with honours. He then obtained a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations at Queen’s University prior to attending law school at the University of Victoria. While in law school, Jake served as president of the labour law club. He also spent a semester volunteering full time at the Law Centre, where he provided free legal services to low income residents of Victoria. Jake graduated from law school in April 2015 and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2016.

While in law school, Jake worked at Nugent Law Office as a summer student. After law school, Jake rejoined the firm as an articling student, and then remained with the firm after completing his articles. Jake is very passionate about labour and employment law. He has experience advising and representing clients in regards to a wide variety of issues within these practice areas.

Outside work, Jake is an avid fan of most professional sports. He also plays tennis, squash and Ultimate Frisbee, enjoys hiking, and considers himself a film buff.
